About the Rahme Fund
The Rahme Technical Theatre Fund is a crucial source of funding that supports and enhances the experience of the many performing arts and technical theatre students we have at Brentwood. The fund has provided many cost-effective and sustainable upgrades to the Killy Theatre in the T. Gil Bunch Centre for the Performing Arts, including: "Follow Spots" lighting that enables efficient stage and scenic lighting while drawing the audience focus to individual actors; "LED Stage Wash Lights" that allow theatre students to create any desired lighting colour; and a new lighting console.
“The performing arts and technical theatre students, along with their instructors, are very grateful for the generosity of Diana Rahme in honouring her late son Andrew Rahme '82 with this bequest that enhances the performance expectations of our educational programmes and shows. Lighting and the study of lighting design and sound editing are important and popular components of our technical theatre courses. With this fund we can continue building our inventory with state of the art equipment enabling students to develop their artistry and creative self-expression. Students who have completed our programme have continued to post secondary programs in theatre design, audio engineering, theatre production, design and directing".
